I’M SO HAPPY YOU'RE HERE
Hi, I'm Karie! I've been a creative crafter since I was a young child enamored with my grandmother's craft room. She taught me to use her sewing machine when I was in high school and I continued to sew gifts and small projects for my home over the years. When my first daughter was born in 2015 I dove into sewing, expanding my knowledge base and focusing on making clothing and working more with knit (i.e. stretchy) fabric.
I started teaching my oldest daughter to sew several years ago and have had so much fun watching her learn and create. I am excited to open up my sewing room and share my knowledge and love of sewing with more people. My goal is to create a relaxed and fun environment where you leave with a creation you've made AND with skills you can continue to use at home.
The Sewing Room
All lessons/classes are held in my home sewing room, a comfortable and relaxed environment with lots of natural light. There is the space and machines to accommodate two learners at a time, and the tables and chairs are adjustable so that both adults and children are able to comfortably learn to use a sewing machine.
Students will have access to a sewing machine to use, as well as all the tools and notions they may need for their project (check class description to know if you need to bring your own fabric). Intermediate students will also have access to learning on a serger and cover stitch machine.
*** If you have your own sewing machine it is recommended that you bring it with you so you can leave confident in knowing you will be able to use it at home too (all machines are a little different!).
